We had a great week at the BSC!  Teen Night with over 25 kids, a Fun Family Night, and perfect pool weather.

Here's what's coming up this week

• Wednesday, 6:30 - 7:30pm, extra lap lane.  (6:30 - 7:30pm every Monday and Wednesday)
• Thursday Swim Meet -- pool closes at 5pm -- come support the team! (see below)

July's Events

• 4th of July Free Day.  Bring your friends and grill out, share treats and celebrate our nation's birth at the pool! 
  Note:  The pool will not be providing food for this free-day event.

Swim Team Update
Our Blackridge Barracudas have gotten off to a great 2-1 start.  They were victorious against Foxwood and Rosedale, but fell to Bel Aire (last year's Champs winner) last night.

Keep track of our results at the ESA site.  Better yet, come to our first home meet tomorrow!  Grab dinner at the concessions stand and cheer on our kids.

Tomorrow:  Thursday, June 30 vs Edgewood, 6:30pm start
Note:  The pool closes at 5pm for the meet.

The weather's been hot, the pool's been cool, and now everyone is officially out of school!
(No more rhyming now, I mean it.)

If you know of friends who you'd love to hang out with at the pool, let them know today about the BSC.  Free events all summer for you if you do!  And this next week looks like perfect pool weather.

Teen Swim This Friday

• Starts at 8 pm til 10 pm
• $5.00 a head.
• Bring a friend and a towel.
• We will take care of snacks and drinks.
• Opening it to 11 and up. If all goes well they will be invited back.

Family Swim Night

• Saturday from 8 pm to 10 pm. 
• $10/family (to compensate the guards). 
• Come and swim under the lights! 
• BYO Snacks and have fun.  :)

Ice Cream Man!
Did you know the ice cream man comes to visit the pool every Wednesday at 2:45pm sharp?  Well now you do!

Make it a weekly tradition and share a piece of your childhood with your kids, or relive it yourself and get a bomb pop, push up, or drumstick.
Again:  Wednesdays (today!) at 2:45pm!

Swim Team
It's not too late to join.  The season is just beginning.  If you can (almost) swim across the pool, we want you on the team!

Some background:
The Barracudas team is a small organization that offers a supportive environment to swimmers of all abilities. The team's emphasis is on developing good sportsmanship, expanding each swimmer's experience, and having fun. Traditionally, older team members work closely with the team's younger members, helping them to improve their strokes, dives, and other aspects of competitive swimming.  The team recognizes that it is a great accomplishment to win and strives toward that goal with every meet, while emphasizing the importance of team work and improving each swimmer's individual times.

And we've just won our first meet of the year!

Rentals
Are you interested in renting the pool for a party or get-together?  It's one of the benefits of membership!  

The basics are:

• $50/hour (two hour minimum) plus $40 for the guards
• up to 50 guests for rentals starting at 8pm, 25 max noon - 8pm.  
• for smaller daytime rentals (12 or less) ask and we'll get you a price.

Fiesta Friday This Week:  From Kate, our uber-event coordinator...

Our First Fiesta Friday of the season is THIS Friday June 17th.
Come out for an ADULT evening of sitting on the deck under the stars. Always a great time with many laughs. BYOB with an appetizer to share. $5.00 per person donation. We start right after swim practice at 8:30. We have plenty of space so feel free to bring a friend or two. Looking forward to catching up with old friends and making new ones. Lap Swimming
Some folks have expressed interest in swimming laps.  While we always have one dedicated lap lane, we'd like to give those folks an extra chance to swim laps.

Therefore, Mondays and Wednesdays we'll be opening two lanes for dedicated lap swimming from 6:30 - 7:30pm.

Come on down and enjoy some great exercise with some great folks.  :)

Forest Hills Free Look Day:  This Sunday, June 12

Weeding Wednesday
Lots of folks have worked to make our hillside beautiful this year.  We'd like to keep it that way.  So please join us for our first...Weeding Wednesday!

For two hours in the morning, and one in the evening, every other Wednesday we'll be weeding the hillside.  We'll start next Wednesday.

So:

• Come Wednesday June 15 prepared to weed.
• 9:30 - 11:30 am or...
• 7:30 - 8:30pm and...
• bring extras from your garden to fill in the bare spots

The weather has been great, the pool is crystal clear, and it's been wonderful to meet new friends and see familiar faces.

Swim Team Starts This Week
Evening practices (Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 7:30-8:30) start today, Monday June 6.

Morning practices (daily, Monday through Friday) start Thursday June 9.

• 8 and under:  9:30-10am
• ages 9-10:  9:30-10:30am
• 11 and up:  10:30-11:30am.

The kids are almost all out of school, so we'll be getting to our normal summer schedule soon.  Sooner than we thought!
